FAQs

01

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE, AND WHAT
IS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH YOU?

I would describe my posing style as timeless, fun, romantic, and happy, and I would describe my photography style as light, bright, & airy with warm true-to-real life editing. I am constantly inspired by soft neutral color palettes, as well as by the gorgeous tropical scenery found here on Maui. I am always looking for beautiful and flattering light to photograph my couples in, and I strive to create natural looking images that don’t appear too stiff or forced. My goal at every wedding is to encourage my couples to relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera, to help ensure that I bring out the most genuine expressions on their wedding day. I give plenty of guidance and direction to achieve the ideal amount of both natural and posed photos, while also capturing candid moments as they occur throughout the day as well. I am laid back and easy to work with, but also very detail-oriented and assertive, and I love building a friendship with all of my wonderful and sweet clients :)
Curious to find out how other brides & grooms would describe their experience of working with me?
Feel free to read through some client testimonials on my Yelp page here. :)

02

DID YOU STUDY PHOTOGRAPHY?

Yes! I graduated from Cal State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Studio Art (photography),
and also received a minor in Business Entrepreneurship.

03

DO YOU SHOOT FILM OR DIGITAL, OR BOTH?

I mainly shoot digitally with a Canon 5D Mark III DSLR camera (and have a back-up camera as well), but I have also started incorporating medium format film into some of my weddings, and use a Pentax 645N for all film shooting. Depending on your wedding day timeline and/or your personal preference, I will supplement with more or less film.

04

HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?

I started photographing weddings in California back in 2005, and have had the privilege of photographing around 275 weddings since the beginning of my career. Because of all of the various types of weddings and locations that I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at, I am very comfortable shooting in any weather and lighting condition.

05

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

In order to ensure that all of my clients receive the highest quality work and best service that I can offer, I accept only a limited number of weddings per month and a small amount of portrait shoots per year. For this reason, my schedule typically books up
about 3-4 months in advance (and sometimes further out during more popular months), so I highly recommend booking
as soon as you can, in order to secure my availability for your special day.

06

WE ARE INTERESTED IN BOOKING YOU FOR OUR WEDDING!
HOW DO WE SECURE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES
FOR OUR WEDDING DATE?

After receiving confirmation that you would like to move forward with booking my services for your wedding, I send you a short questionnaire to fill out, and at that point I put together your wedding photography contract and invoice. Once I receive both your signed wedding photography contract and 50% retainer payment, then you’re all set and officially booked on my calendar! After booking, I send you a tentative wedding day timeline to help guide you through the rest of your wedding planning process, and also send any vendor recommendations that you’re in need of at that time as well. And I am always happy to help with
anything else that you may need during your wedding planning process too! :)
