A Morning Olowalu Plantation House Wedding: One thing I love about being a wedding photographer here on Maui is hearing all about my couple’s different proposal stories from back in their home towns or while on their travels. And who doesn’t love a good proposal story!?

So, Taylor had been planning to propose to Alexandra the night before it actually happened. He recreated their first date at a champagne bar (how sweet!) and they went to see Norah Jones, Alex’s favorite. Despite how romantic the evening was, alas no proposal. Taylor explained the next morning in the kitchen how he had tried so many times to propose to her the night before, but it never worked out. Sooo, he got down on one knee and proposed right there on their kitchen floor! <3

Alexandra and Taylor’s special day took place on a beautiful summer morning at Olowalu Plantation House, with the gorgeous morning light lending hand to capturing classic Hawaiian wedding photos during their ceremony and bride & groom portraits.

I absolutely loved Alexandra’s traditional cathedral length veil that gracefully flowed in the wind throughout the day. And one other special detail of their day is that they also had a sweet little daughter who was 2 years old at the time. It was so wonderful getting to see all three of them share this memorable day together 🙂
